3MDG (Three Millennium Development Goal Fund) announced that it had provided US$284 million to the Myanmar health sector over the last five years, from 2012 to 2017.
Myanmar successfully implemented the 3MDG projects to meet the target.
3MDG provided free medical services to 25,000 pregnant women in rural areas with the help of experts.
Moreover, a project to combat against the venereal diseases was launched to provide services to 76,000 drug addicts. That’s why the project already reached to 53 per cent of its target.
Austria, Denmark, the EU, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the US have participated in the 3MDG’s projects.
3MDG is prioritising healthcare services to new mothers, newborns and children. The organisation also upgraded learning systems at 22 midwifery schools around the country and built rural healthcare centers in remote areas.
3MDG is now helping the Ministry of Health and Sports draw up the National Health Project (2017-21) and providing free medical services to people living in conflict areas together with its partner organisations and INGOs.
