One of the most important studies presented at last month's international AIDS conference was the CAMELIA study conducted in nearby Cambodia. People with TB and HIV frequently die. If antiretroviral therapy is not given early enough they die more quickly. Antiretroviral therapy should be started just two weeks after TB treatment begins. The longer you wait, the more they die.
