HIV antibody ကို အလွ်င္အျမန္ စစ္ေဆးေပးတဲ့ ကိရိယာ (Rapid HIV test) ကို အလြယ္တကူ ရႏိုင္တယ္။ အျခား စစ္ေဆးႏိုင္တဲ့ စမ္းသပ္နည္းေတြကေတာ့ ELISA, Western Blot နည္းေတြ ျဖစ္တယ္။ ပိုး၀င္ ျပီးခ်ိန္က HIV antibody စစ္ေဆး ေတြ႔႐ွိခ်ိန္ထိ ကာလကို Window period လို႔ ေခၚတယ္။ ဒီကာလမွာ HIV ကူးစက္ခံရမွန္း မသိႏိုင္တဲ့အခ်ိန္ ျဖစ္ျပီး အျခားသူေတြကိုေတာ့ ကူးစက္ႏိုင္စြမ္း ႐ွိတယ္။ ၉၉% ေသာ HIV ကူးစက္ ခံရသူမ်ားဟာ ၃ လ အၾကာမွာ HIV antibody စစ္ေဆး ေတြ႔႐ွိႏိုင္တယ္။
