The Executive Director of the Australian MSF says that there should be no queue for antiretroviral therapy in Myanmar. Then their doctors won't have to make any difficult triage decisions. Paul McPhun says the UN says one hundred thousand people need antiretroviral therapy urgently. The [him] moderator is not aware of any UN estimate of one hundred thousand. Can anyone point it out to [him]?

The following anonymous comment was received in response to the [him] moderator's analysis of the new national strategic plan last week.

ေက်ာင္းသူေတြ၊ လူငယ္ေတြ အလွ်ံပယ္ သံုးလာၾကလို႔ နယူးေဒလီ ကိုယ္ဝန္ဖ်က္ေပးတဲ့ ေဆးခန္းေတြမွာ လူနာေတြ တိုးလာေနပါတယ္။

The [him] moderator has received a copy of the concise version of the new Myanmar National Strategic Plan and Operational Plan on HIV/AIDS 2011 – 2015.

The Minister of Health in India made homophobic statements and then tried to deny he said this or that. Hindustani speakers can watch him on video and decide for themselves if his statements were homophobic. The [him] moderator thinks they were.

The [him] moderator is keeping an eye on the International AIDS Society conference in Rome but all that is coming out of it so far is hype and blather. He will post on it later. … Here are the only abstracts presented with the word Myanmar in them. No abstracts contain the word Burma.

HIV ပုိးဟာ လူမ်ဳိး၊ ဘာသာ၊ ေနရာအစြဲမထားတတ္တာမို႔ ဒီေရာဂါဟာ မြတ္စ္လင္မ္ႏိုင္ငံနဲ႔ အသုိင္းအ၀ုိင္းေတြၾကားမွာလဲ လ်စ္လ်ဴရႈထားလို႔မရတဲ့ ကိစၥ တစ္ခုျဖစ္လာပါၿပီ။ ႏုိင္ဂ်ီးရီးယားနဲ႔ အီသီယုိပီးယားတို႔လုိ မြတ္စ္လင္မ္လူဦးေရ ၅၀% အထက္ရွိတဲ့ ႏုိင္ငံေတြမွာ HIV ကူးစက္မႈႏႈန္းဟာ ႏုိင္ငံလူဦးေရရဲ႕ ၈-၁၀% ရိွပါတယ္။

Thanks to AIDS Asia for announcing the next ICAAP. That is two years away. But since it is so close to Myanmar we can expect better participation.
