HIV ဟာ ဗိုင္းရပ္စ္ပိုးကိုေျပာတာျဖစ္တယ္။ AIDS ဟာ အဲဒီပိုးေၾကာင့္ျဖစ္လာတဲ့ ေရာဂါအစုအေဝးကို ဆိုလိုတယ္။ HIV ပိုးက ေသြး-အရည္ထဲမွာ ရွိေနေပမဲ့ ဘာမွမျဖစ္ေသးဘဲ ေနေသးတယ္။ ခုခံအားက်ဆင္းလာမွသာ HIV Opportunistic infections (အိတ္ခ်္အိုင္ဗြီ) ရွိေနစဥ္ အခြင့္ေကာင္းယူျပီး ကူးစက္လာတဲ့ ေရာဂါေတြ ဝင္လာတယ္။ အဲဒီ အခ်ိန္ေရာက္မွ ခံစားရတာျဖစ္မယ္။ ဝင္လာတဲ့ေရာဂါအရ ေရာဂါလကၡဏာ ျဖစ္မယ္။ တေယာက္နဲ႔ တေယာက္မတူႏိုင္ဘူး။
