တစ္ကမၻာလံုးတြင္ HIV ပိုး ကူးစက္ခံထားရသူ ၃၅ သန္းရွိ မည္ဟု ကမၻာ့က်န္းမာေရးအဖဲြ႕က ခန္႔မွန္းထားသည္။ အေမရိကန္ႏိုင္ငံတြင္ လူတစ္သန္းေက်ာ္ HIV ပိုး ကူးစက္ခံထားရသည္ဟု ထင္မွတ္ရၿပီး ၎တို႔အနက္ ၁၈ ရာခိုင္ႏႈန္းမွာ ေရာဂါပိုး ကူးစက္ ခံထားရေၾကာင္း သတိမမူမိၾက ေပ။ အေမရိကန္ႏိုင္ငံ အတြင္း HIV ပိုးရွိသည္ဟု စစ္ေဆးေတြ႕ရွိ သူ အေရအတြက္မွာ ၂၀၀၂ မွ ၂၀၁၁ အတြင္း ၄၉၃,၃၇၂ ဦးရွိ ခဲ့ေၾကာင္း သုေတသီမ်ားက ေျပာသည္။
