It has take a *long* time for HPV vaccination against cervical cancer to be accepted by the Ministry of Health and Sports. And it is going to be a long time for it to be eliminated if only girls in a two year birth cohort are vaccinated every year. Jamie ++++++++++++++++++ Myanmar introduces cervical cancer […]

Three Cs in response to Covid19 in prisons

I wish the entire plan to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 in prisons had been presented by the Minister. Of course releases are the most effective first measure. Covidecarceration. The big Thingyan releases helped. Though more could be done. Then medical isolation or quarantine on intake is a solid idea. Anyone already inside with Covid19 […]

Dexamethasone has little impact on healthier patients

I was interested to read this excellent Frontier article on Covid19 coronavirus. Read this carefully: “Current therapies – which include steroids like dexamethasone, convalescent plasma and remdesivir, an antiviral drug initially developed to treat hepatitis C – “have a higher success rate if administered before symptoms become severe”, said Dr Zaw Than Tun, director general […]

Remdesivir

Thanks to WHO in Myanmar. Have you posted this fact to Facebook? “The WHO says that the use of antiviral drugs in the treatment of COVID-19 has had “little or no effect”.
