"I think that this story whilst having elements of truth in it  is just not correct and in fact inflammatory in a  way that only Americans can do.

This line particularly irks me, " Buddhist monks openly ask all Muslims to leave their country and call them animals". The statement is not prefaced by words like "some militant".

As I know many Buddhist monks who do not do this and many Muslims who have Buddhist monks as friends and vice versa  this statement is at best wrong without correction and at worst giving more ammunition to those elements who would like to see this hospital close..

Also from a poor Muslim perspective it is not "free" as stated. Pay the money you get quicker and better service same as everywhere in Myanmar. If a serious issue the Muslims will go to Yangon General Hospital ,and also Yes, still pay."

The author of the article would certainly have been more accurate to use 'some' as the first word of the sentence: "Buddhist monks openly ask all Muslims to leave their country and call them animals".

The word 'free' has changed meaning in the almost eighty years that the Muslim Free Hospital has been open. End users of all health services in Myanmar incur out of pocket expenses everywhere. The difference is in degree.

Finally, a panzagar call out on the comment about Americans. If you replace the word 'American' with the group of your choice you will see how bad it sounds.
