The [him] moderator recently noted that Su Kyi's was silent about the death of people who inject drugs, men who have sex with men, and female sex workers at the candlelight ceremony.
I wrote: "People who inject drugs, men who have sex with men, transgendered people, and female sex workers have died. Was nothing said about them? Was something said and it wasn't reported? Not mentioning them, living or dead, is a form of discrimination. Her silence is deafening."
I received a reply from a reader:
Reader: "I disagree with the title of this posting. I question the morale of the person who posted. Is she/he wanted to hep those who really need help or merely to defame Daw Aung San Suu Kyi?"
I replied: " The title is true, though you are welcome to disagree with my truth. Questioning my morals, if that is what you meant to do, is an ad hominem attack. I will refrain from doing the same to you.
Suu Kyi is now an elected politician and I have a right and a responsibility to call her to account for silence on an important issue. So do you."
