A new school in Mae Sot
For the upcoming school year of 2006 - 2007 the Burmese Migrant Workers' Education Committee (BMWEC) and World Education/ Consortium (WE/C) are happy to announce the opening of the Wide Horizons Program. This will be an advanced school located in Mae Sot, Tak, Thailand on the Hsa Thoo Lei school compound.
In brief, this is a 10-month program offering advanced courses in English, Computer skills, Educational Management and Organizational Management. This will be a boarding program with students and teachers living, working and studying together. Through contacts with various CBOs, NGOs and schools in the area the students will have the unique experience of a program that is practical based. Students will have the opportunity to create and implement new projects of their design, as well as work with many local and international organizations. Who should apply?
Wide Horizons is looking for 20 outstanding candidates from Burma currently living in Thailand. We will recruit from a wide range of ethnicities and over multiple provinces in Thailand.
Ideal candidates:
1. Have solid English language skills
2. Have experience working in community organizations or schools for at least one year
3. Are dedicated to their community
4. Are hardworking in their studies and personal growth
5. Agree to a year community work contract with a local organization of their choice.
