    I agree with Thomas that there is an HIV crisis. But I wonder where he gets his facts about how many women in obstetric hospitals have HIV. My informants, official and unofficial, put the figure closer to one tenth to one one hundredth the figure Thomas presents. [him] moderator

    Burma is in huge HIV/AIDS crisis. At some hospitals in Rangoon, there are almost 80% HIV positive in the pregnant women. HIV is 25% transmission rate to the newborn if the mother doesn't get treated. If this is true and not responded adequately, Burma will be breeding and spreading ground for HIV in short times. But the governement tried to hide the data so it can't be confirmed independently.

    yes, in some indochinese countries, like Burma, the situation about HIV are not so favorable or even bad, i think we need to find out the radical reasons. some friends on positivesingles.com think it's the government who don't do the job of prevention well.
    actually, i agree, but in addition, and think still there need more propaganda and education, if so, it would be only the matter of time to solve the problem/
