An organisation inside Myanmar can win a Red Ribbon award

It would be nice for an organisation inside Myanmar to win this award. Note they give separate awards for 'prevention' and 'treatment'.

On behalf of the UN and civil society partners involved in the Red Ribbon Award initiative, it is our pleasure and honour to announce the launch of the 2012 Red Ribbon Award on World AIDS Day, 1st December 2011.  In 2012, the biennial award will be given to 10 organizations that have shown outstanding community leadership and action on AIDS. The five award categories are:

·         Prevention of sexual transmission
·         Prevention among people who use drugs
·         Treatment, care and support
·         Advocacy and human rights
·         Stopping new HIV infections in children and keeping mothers alive; women's health.

More details on the Red Ribbon Award may be found online on our website, www.redribbonaward.org. On the website, you will find promotional posters and brochures explaining the nomination process, as well as the on-line system for nominating eligible community-based organizations. We would be grateful if you would distribute these materials to your contacts and colleagues in your organization's offices worldwide as well as to civil society groups in your networks who are active in the response to AIDS so as to ensure that outstanding civil society organizations will be aware of the award and have a chance to apply. Please note that nominations will be accepted from 1 December 2011 through 29 February 2012.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Helen
