Brangelina makes a choice

Angie wants to go inside to work with "AIDS victims" but gave money to Human Rights Watch instead.

The Jolie-Pitts Donate More Ca$h — Is Adoption Next?
September 23, 2008

The Jolie-Pitts may need to reorder checks — they're writing them fast and furiously. But are they also planning to adopt another wee one?

Shortly after donating money to establish an HIV/AIDS clinic in Ethiopia and days after Brad gave $100,000 to fight the gay marriage ban in Calif, the couple have gifted $1 million to fund Human Rights Watch's work in Burma and Zimbabwe. The money will allow HRW, which accepts no government funding, to continue documenting and exposing horrifying abuses in both countries.

"Brad and Angelina's investment in our work at this critical moment will allow intensified efforts by our researchers to expose the repression that these governments try to keep hidden," said Kenneth Roth, executive director of HRW.

But Brad and Angie's support of those countries may not stop with their check. As Star reported in July, the couple who have adopted kids from Cambodia, Vietnam and Ethiopia — and biological babies born in Namibia and France — are looking for their next child in — you guessed it — either Zimbabwe or Burma.

"Angie and Brad made a pact when she became pregnant that they'd adopt one or two more children as soon as possible after the twins were born," a source told Star, adding that they really want to step up their action in what they call Red Alert areas, the most war-ravaged and starvation-plagued parts of the world. "Angie had been in talks to go into [Burma] and work with AIDS victims who are suffering there. It's a place where both she and Brad want to help, and the best way for them to do so is by giving one child a home."
