Bupe can be delivered as a fast dissolving tablet or film. It can simply be begun as an outpatient. Dosage regulation is dead easy. It produces almost no 'high'. If it is combined with naloxone the tablets can be crushed and injected but produce no high. It stays in the body a long time and is well suited for 'take home doses'. I see lots of patients who are doing very well on buprenorphine/naloxone.
