"Some stigmatized and discriminatory concepts, most likely. And how to handle AIDS patients with gloves. But it's another case of low exposure. We didn't do or haven't done enough to involve/mobilize people from the religious sector.
A Muslim leader speaking on 22 May 2010, at the Candlelight Memorial ceremony organized by the 3N (National NGO Network on HIV/AIDS in Myanmar) at a sermon hall near Judson church in Yangon said the following, translated from Burmese to English.
"We can have pity for them, we don't seperate them, and we will not abandon them [MSM] but we can not agree or accept their behaviour which are condemned by all the gods and prophets. We can not tell them that their action is OK."
A speech that included the above quote was given after the leaders from Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity spoke on the same ocasion. Fortunately all three were more supportive than the last."
