This new report on drugs in Kachin is filled with interesting reading. Including wild - really wild - estimates of the number of students who have drug dependence or addiction in the area.

The report says that 30% or more of students are drug injectors or heroin users based on statements by one student and one lecturer on page 23.

Most organisations do not publish reports with figures based on statements by a few people. Some do. This report is funded by Open Society and Ophidian.

It will be interesting to see how long this 'statistic' is cut and pasted and copied until no one pays attention to it any longer.
