There is a bit of confusion about the deadline for cigarette manufacturers, distributors, and sellers in Myanmar to ensure that all packages have graphic health warnings.
The original deadline was set to 1 September. Some sources are now reporting a six month grace period but I can find no official text documenting this.
So the official deadline has passed. How will the Ministry of Health enforce this regulation? Now and six months from now. I will be asking the same question about many new health regulations in the next few years.
Should civil society inform the Ministry about infractions? And to whom at the Ministry should they direct this information?
