Humphrey Fellowship 2010

Humphrey Fellowship is a non-degree training program for mid-career professionals. It is sponsored annually by the US State Department since 1978. Myanmar citizens who are from the following professional fields are eligible to apply:

        * Agricultural and Rural Development
        * Communications/ Journalism
        * Substance Abuse Education, Treatment, and Prevention
        * Economic Development/Finance and Banking
        * Educational Administration, Planning and Policy
        * HIV/AIDS Policy and Prevention
        * Human Resource Management
        * Law and Human Rights
        * Natural Resources/Environmental Policy/Climate Change
        * Public Health Policy and Management
        * Public Policy Analysis and Public Administration
        * Teaching of English as a Foreign Language
        * Technology Policy and Management
        * Trafficking in Persons, Policy and Prevention
        * Urban and Regional Planning

Application deadline

    29 May 2009

Eligibility criteria for Humphrey fellowship are:

        * Burmese citizenship
        * University Graduates
        * At least five years of substantial professional experience in Burma
        * Demonstrated leadership qualities and a record of public service
        * Little or no previous experience studying or working in the U.S.
        * Written permission from their employers to participate in the program, should they be selected
        * English level equivalent to 525 TOEFL score.
