The Director General of the World Health Organization appears to be misinformed. New infections are decreasing globally. Put another way, the yearly number of new infections are aleady decreasing. She says this: "On the prevention side, we have new WHO treatment guidelines that offer the first real prospect of reducing the yearly number of new infections."
If new infections are already being reduced, then why does she say that new treatment guidelines offer the first real prospect of reducing them? This sounds like she is misinformed or engaging in hyperbole. Or is the [him] moderator missing something?
