Half a year of progress by the 3 MDG Fund

Some good news from the six monthly report of the Three Millennium Development Goal Fund.

Much of the HIV section of the report is appropriately about harm reduction, as harm reduction for people who inject drugs is one of the underdeveloped areas of HIV prevention in the country. It is good that the 3MDG Fund sees harm reduction as a priority.

A few questions.

Is it better to add more of the nine components of harm reduction services to those people who inject drugs who are already reached by some of the components or to increase the reach of some of the components to people who have never been reached? What will prevent more new HIV infections?

Aren't there an awful lot of 'coordination' activities that sap funds from service delivery?

What is the real reason for delay in delivering HIV prevention and care services to prisoners?

And finally, why the secret? Three hundred people follow @3MDGFund on Twitter but the publication of the report has not been announced.
