When Covid-19 or coronavirus begins to be detected in Myanmar it could easily overwhelm the health care system. Health care volunteers are going to be needed.
Jails, prisons, and labour camps in the country will be hit especially hard. I work as a health care provider in jails so see the impact the virus can have.

Doctors register as volunteers to fight Covid-19 in Myanmar

YANGON: Eighty doctors have registered themselves as volunteers to Myanmar Medical Association (Central) for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 to this date, Dr. Win Zaw, general secretary of Myanmar Medical Association (Yangon Division) told Xinhua on Sunday (March 22).
Myanmar Medical Association (Central) in collaboration with Ministry of Health and Sports has been enlisting volunteer doctors for the prevention and treatment of Covid-19 since March 20.
"Upon the request of Ministry of Health and Sports to our association, we are gathering volunteer doctors to be ready for any situation as part of preparation to fight Covid-19", he said.
He also urged the public to follow the directives of Ministry of Health and Sports and not to believe the rumors concerning Covid-19.
"We need power and strength in order to overcome this virus outbreak. So let's all work together to fight against Covid-19," he added.
Myanmar Medical Association (Central) has branches in states and regions with about 20,000 memberships.
No confirmed Covid-19 case has been reported so far in Myanmar. - Xinhua/Asian News Network
