Most 'AIDS orphanages' around the world aren't filled with children double orphaned by HIV. Most children in orphanages worldwide are not orphans. It is time we got beyond orphanages and supported families in the community. It is a matter of national sovereignty.
I won't ask the usual questions. I don't know where to start.

AIDS orphanage opens in Myanmar
NHK World News
29 June 2015
An orphanage for children who lost their parents to AIDS has been built in Myanmar with the help of a Japanese NGO.
An opening ceremony was held on Saturday in Mogaung in northern Myanmar's Kachin State. A YMCA group in Kumamoto in southwestern Japan raised funds to build the facility through public donations.
The orphanage is home to 11 children between the ages of 9 and 16. Two of them are confirmed to have been infected with the HIV virus through mother-to-infant transmission.
The head of the facility said she will look after the orphans not as a teacher but as a family member. She said she wants them to be successful when they grow up.
The use of heroin is spreading among members of the Kachin ethnic minority. Many of them perform hard physical labor in jade mines. Some share syringes, boosting the number of HIV-infected people among them.
More and more AIDS orphans have no one to take care of them now that their grandparents are passing away.
Hiroo Tsutsumi of Kumamoto YMCA is calling for more support. He said about 40 children are still waiting to get into the orphanage.
