Methamphetamine use has an ambivalent effect on sexual behaviour. It may cause increases in sexual behaviour and may cause decreases in sexual behaviour. It may be correlated with HIV acquisition and transmission though it may not play a direct role in either.
It is important that we keep the spotlight on the real, proven, and established role that INJECTING drugs has in HIV transmission.
