Live from the ICAAP – Silence from the Myanmar government at the conference

There has been almost no Myanmar governmental contribution to the public programme at the International Conference on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific in Colombo. Of the fifteen or so abstracts, none are from the government. One media interview with Deputy Minister of Health Mya Oo is tentatively planned. Why the silence? Nothing to report? Lack of funding for attendance? There is only one abstract from a United Nations staff member.
