Youths receive skills for raising awareness of HIV, VD, drugs

YANGON, 8 Jan - Myanmar Anti-narcotics Association and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) jointly conducted a multiplier course on raising awareness of HIV and narcotic drugs at the association in Kamayut Township yesterday.

Altogether 36 trainees from Muse, Taunggyi, Kengtung, Tachilek and Yangon are attending the 10-day course which is designed to help youths solve daily problems and raise their awareness of HIV, venereal disease (VD) and the danger of narcotic drugs.

After completing the course, the trainees will also raise awareness of HIV, VD and narcotic drugs among youths. The course will end on 16 January.

Also present at the opening ceremony were responsible persons of UNICEF, lecturers from Myanmar Red Cross Society and members of the executive committee of Myanmar Anti-narcotics Association.

The ceremony was opened with an address by Chairman of Myanmar Anti-narcotics Association U San Thein.
