MANA funding has decreased. The [him] moderator noted yesterday that methadone provision by MANA is lifesaving. Here is an anonymous comment from a reader:

"Having last year visited a MANA clinic in Shan State during the evaluation of a donor fund I can say that they were, indeed, running what seemed to be efficient and effective methadone programs.

The drug users I spoke to (about 15-20 of them) came from miles around to get methadone/MANA help. The staff I spoke to were, at that stage, working without pay and the centre manager was using his own money to buy essential supplies. Maybe the fault for this lay with MANA administration; maybe with the Fund. I don't know. The point I wish to make is about their dedication and the need for this service."
