The Capacity Building Officer (CBO) will be responsible for assisting the training department of the MFP, ensuring smooth and efficient technical support of the training for the MFP training team for high performance. The CBO will report to the Agency Project Manager and work closely with other members of the MFP Management Team.
Adherence to MFP best practices and principles: The CBO will be responsible for providing the technical support needed in MFP capacity development to promote and adhere to MF best practices and principles including:
* provide loans for productive economic purposes to poor people in Myanmar
* issue loans that are appropriate to the capacity of the borrowers to repay
* be grounded in good microfinance discipline
* be committed to openness and transparency in all areas of management and operations
* be committed to providing credit and savings services to poor people in the most appropriate and cost effective way
* be a learning organization in which appropriate research will contribute to staff development and training and to updating operating policies and systems
Qualifications:
* Strong communication skills and ability.
* Ability to coordinate team and create learning environment to staff.
* Ability to work quickly and accurately under time pressure and tight deadlines.
* Proficiency with PC based software – Word, Excel, PageMaker
* Excellent on-the-job training capabilities
* Ability to create a strong vision for the future of the MFP
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as the member of a team.
* Demonstrated ability in oral and written English communications skills in order to effectively communicate with the trainees and junior trainers.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Master’s Degree or equivalent in Management, banking, international development or related field.
* Minimum of five years of experience in training in an MFI or international non-profit organization.
* Knowledge of MFP best practice methodologies and practices
