More on Yadanamyitta

This comment from a reader is in response to the posting on Yadanamyitta in February http://www.hivinfo4mm.org/blog/_archives/2006/2/23/1778435.html

Any more news?

********************************

Yadanamyitta is a coalition of lay Buddhist organizations working under the
guidance of monks and nuns and is the outcome of meetings between Sangha
Metta and UNICEF in Yangon a couple of years ago, and a 5 day training
conducted in Yangon in November 2004.

During the workshop it was decided that activities would initially be
implemented in Yangon, Mandalay and Pyanmanar and then later spread to other
areas.  Target groups are youth and other community members, while training
of trainers is conducted for members of the Buddhist organizations so that
they can be mobilized in their own areas, thus increasng the number of
people working on HIV/AIDS prevention and care issues and expanding their
area of activities.

Glad to see that it is up and running and meeting with some success.
