Mr. and Mrs. Smart contest: Yangon, Myanmar

Mr. and Mrs. Smart contest was held in Chartium Hotel (Grand Ball Room), Yangon, on December 11, 2009. The contest was arranged and organized by Youth Development Program, jointly supported by Myanmar Medical Association and UNFPA.

Unlike any other Beauty pageant, this contest held a distinct marking scheme for its contestants. The title winners were chosen not because they are good-looking but because they are smart, intelligent, well knowledgeable concerning with HIV and AIDS, great personality and disciplined.

Contestants were limited between 14 to 25 and must also be ideals especially for today youths. Swe Zin Htike (PSI), Khant Sithu (actor) and Kyi Phyu Shin (director) helped as judges and Dr. U Khine Soe Win (YDP) and Ma Ei Yu Par Win (Ms.ASEAN) were also seen in the competition. Winners get 300,000 kyats each including trophies and will have great chances and opportunities as a model in public educational services in the future.
