Prison healthcare manual comes out

A manual on the standard procedure for prison healthcare has come out.

The book was jointly compiled by the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Ministry of Home Affairs. The book must be a reference to the provision of healthcare services in prisons of Myanmar. The procedure will also be inserted into Myanmar's national healthcare system.

It was also complied with its procedures meeting the international standards and suiting Myanmar's situations. The aim is to follow those standard healthcare procedures in all prisons across the country and ensure all prisoners have access to quality healthcare.

The new resident representative from the International Committee of Red Cross said ICRC was willing to cooperate with Myanmar in providing healthcare in its prisons during a meeting with the union minister.
