"There are two options for those who are suspected of COVID at the community /township level;

1) Anosmia center : those presented with Anosmia and live in crowded places such as hostel or with a big family but NO primary contact are referred to the anosmia center. They are tested after a few days or on the same day depends on the testing capacity. If one is tested Positive, s/he will be further referred accordingly. Anosmia center is a kind of isolation center which serves as a midway intervention between fever clinic and other facilities.

2) community based facility quarantine : those who are primary contact of confirmed COVID patient are referred to facility Quarantine at the township level where they will be tested and referred further depending on the test result and according to the quarantine guideline.

Both of them come out as an initiative by the community to ease the workload of official /formal quarantine centers and hospitals which are overloaded.

Not all townships have such facilities though. Some townships do not have fever clinic nor anosmia center nor facility quarantine. The residents of such township usually go to nearby fever clinic and are advised to stay at home i.e. Home Isolation if presented only with Anosmia with no danger sign( if the home is suitable enough for isolation) and we inform the concerned TMO(township medical officer) for further management."
