Responses to the posting on TB

The [him] moderator has received responses on [him] 3914 on the recently-published Myanmar TB profile. The following is a summary.

We are missing over half of TB cases. We use a bad test. Microscopy underperforms in diagnosing TB and half or more of those who get a TB test may get missed. Then only 2/3rd are getting WHO recommended molecular test in Myanmar. And then there is poor treatment coverage.

The funding diagram showse a significant increase of 'domestic' funding in 2021 from 2020, and even more so in 2022. Who's funding that? Definitely not the MoH of the 'de facto authorities'. And patients don't have money to fund it: either out-of-pocket or as charity. Is someone doctoring the numbers or is WHO just plotting a projected gradual increase as planned before?

Comments are always welcome.
