In the new UNAIDS global progress report, titled after a poem by a dead white man, 90% of people on antiretrovirals in Myanmar are reported to have achieved viral suppression. Is this true?
Look at Page 73 in the report. http://www.unaids.org/sites/default/files/media_asset/miles-to-go_en.pdf
No, it is not true.
http://aidsdatahub.org/sites/default/files/country_review/Myanmar_Country_Card_2018.pdf
Only 38,861 people are virally suppressed out of 146,826 people on antiretroviral treatment in Myanmar. That is only 26% of people treated.
This is a major error. Is UNAIDS Myanmar or UNAIDS Geneva or both responsible for it?
