Vientiane Needs More 800 Million For HIV/AIDS Control In 2007-2008

VIENTIANE, Jan 3 (Bernama) -- The Vientiane province is still need more than 800 million kip (RM285,097) to use for HIV/AIDS control for 2007-2008 periods.
Quoting the strategy plan on HIV/AIDS control of the province, the Lao News agency (KPL) reported that the said fund will be used to improve the strengthen of the HIV/AIDS Control Committee in the provincial and district level as well as to build HIV/AIDS control committee at village level for 590 villages.
It will also used for the capacity building for provincial medical workers and for capacity building for provincial medical workers.
In the year of 2008, the province of Vientiane will also build the awareness on HIV/AIDS for 4,000 migrants.
A recent meeting reviewed the activities on HIV/AIDS control made in the past year, which utilized more than 200 million kip of assistant fund from the international organization and government contributed fund.
