I know some people are not going to be happy with me pointing out another error in Suu Kyi's recent speech. But I cannot ignore the fact that she said in her speech that AIDS deaths in Myanmar were halved in one year.
"within one year, deaths from HIV were halved – not because we are concentrating just on HIV/AIDS, but because we were concentrating on public health as a whole, the health of all of our peoples and all our communities"
If you are unsure of the quote then you can find it in the speech:

She is wrong. In 2000 there were about 11,000 AIDS deaths and in 2017 there were about 8,000. In no year were AIDS deaths halved.

Is she misinformed or what?
