Sufficient local production capacity

One anonymous comment on the World Vision NZ view of importing HIV posted yesterday:

It is definitely not true any more as Myanmar has sufficient in-country
driving forces for the spread of HIV. As it was rightly said, "we don't
need to import or smuggle HIV into the country anymore -- very likely
since a decade or two ago -- We have sufficient local production
capacity."

Yes, I do. But as a humble human being, I do not know when and where exactly they got the infection. By the way, you and the previous comment said it is not true anymore (because Myanmar has good local productivity now). That means it was true before. Then my questions to any of you who probably know more than me on the issue were when (at what point) the statement became untrue? Somepoint in 2000? 1990? or in 2005? I really love to know the truth. Are there any studies that prove no sex workers came back from Thailand with the virus? Or are there any studies suggesting new trends of migration among sex workers? I hate the grey as well but it is the reality many times we are in the grey we hate. And in my view, reality and the truth are quite close.

The voice of [him] amplifies, cajoles, provokes, questions, corrects, informs, and asks for help. Grey doesn't much interest [him]. But the moderator of [him] makes postings of the voices of anyone who chooses to help [him] get closer to truth. You are welcome to join [him] in getting closer to truth at any time. For instance, do you know if any seropositive sex workers have come home from Thailand lately?

You will be happy again because I am smiling again reading the remark. I am not sure about the part thinking about sex work in Myanmar. I think the remarks do not make any difference in this regards. (If the intension is to educate me that there are many sex workers inside Myanmar, it is useless because I have already agreed the fact).
Yes, neutral does not mean truth but it does sounds more open to all the voices. We need it since we (Nobody) can hardly say which is true which is fasle. Many times there are gray areas as well. Will be nicer to keep such reality in mind instead of holding I know all attitude. I am looking forwards to another smile and more smiles....

Anon, thank you for your comment. The [him] moderator likes to make people smile, and even more importantly, he likes to make people think. If he made you smile and made you think about sex work among Myanmar people in Myanmar driving the epidemic there then he is happy. The [him] moderator is certainly not neutral. He is looking for truth.

I am just smiling as I read the articles and comments. It seems like when you like the authors, you agree what they say, when you do not like the authors, you will ask where are the evidences?
Who knows? Don;t get me wrong. I just want it to be more neutral. I did not read the whole original article but what I saw was it just mentioned sex workers coming back from Thailand contributes HIV/AIDS problem in Myanmar. I don't think it is totally wrong. Many of the facts are unknown. Who on us can tell the definate things?
