Here is an announcement about the GF Round 7 HIV proposals. There are not many successes from Asia this time. Is Myanmar ready for a Round 8 proposal? BTW, SEA-AIDS is a great resource. Subscription details are at the bottom of the post.
Report on the National AIDS Programme annual review meeting in the Myanmar Times
Dr Min Thwe is absolutely correct when he says that “The 3DF alone is not enough to achieve nationwide coverage for our programs”. His comment would have carried more weight if he had announced at the same time an increase in the governmental budget for HIV.

A rich nation crippled by poverty
The junta thought that allowing Al Jazeera into the country would benefit them by providing an 'antiwestern' view. How wrong they were. … Is the “one long-term expatriate NGO worker” correct when s/he says that most official development goes to UN salaries? I think this is a mistruth. The Three Disease Fund is ODA and it is not spent mostly on UN salaries. S/he should be careful what s/he says. Telling lies to the media will not help the people of Burma.
A reply from MSF to the question posed in him 525
A reader posted a question on the NGO statement in [him] 525 “What about MSF and AZG? And all the other NGOs working in Burma?” Here is an answer from MSF.
AIDS, aids needed

Gaetan Dugas exonerated
What a relief that the late Gaetan Dugas has been exonerated as we now know that HIV came to the US in a Haitian instead of a Canadian. This 'origins of AIDS' research is, in his view, a waste of time. It encourages stigma and discrimination. Did HIV come from Thailand to Myanmar or from Myanmar to Thailand. Who cares?
Burma Campaign UK welcomes DFID’s decision to double aid to Burma
The [him] moderator would have thought that the Campaign would be unreservedly delighted that one of their recommendations was partly fulfiled. Most campaigns see no impact from their work.
